How to prepare a summer cottage for the winter
In the fall, most summer residents return to their city apartments. But before you close your summer house and hang a large castle on the gate, you should carry out some work on the site to prepare it for the winter period. Most likely, in the winter you will not visit your summer house, well, except if it is very close, and once a month you will go here to fry the barbecue and relax in the fresh air. The cold season can bring a lot of trouble in the country, but to avoid them is not at all difficult.
After you have harvested in your beds, the garden should also be prepared for frost. Trees protect from rodents, if necessary, transplant plants. To make it pleasant for you to return to your country house, you should clean up there, it will also allow you to get rid of uninvited guests - insects and rodents.
Territory and garden tools
The entire territory of your site, including the adjacent one, must be cleaned of garbage, as well as of everything that can attract intruders. Garden tools are being prepared for the next season; they should be cleaned in a dry and enclosed area.
Benches, garden furniture should be cleaned. Gardening equipment is carefully checked and cleaned, do not forget about the motor from the well, if you have one. Hand tools - shovels, axes, if necessary, should be repaired immediately and only then stored.
If water remains in the containers, then it should be disposed of. All hoses are twisted and put into storage for storage, and there should also be no residual water in them. If you are a happy owner of a pool in a summer cottage, then the water drains from it, the pool itself is covered with a film after cleaning.
If you plan to even occasionally come to the country in the winter, then you should prepare firewood in advance and put them in a dry place, this will save you from many inconveniences in the future.
